Haptic Device System for Upper Limb and Cognitive Rehabilitation – Application for Development Disorder Children
نویسندگان
چکیده
A rehabilitation system using mechatronics, virtual reality can provide interactive therapy that engages the user’s interest. It can also offer a simple and flexible environmental setup with precise recursive training and can gather training data at the same time. Several kinds of virtual reality applications are currently available in this field. For example, MITMANUS, MIME (Mirror Image Movement Enabler), Assisted Rehabilitation and Measurement (ARM) Guide, and a rehabilitation training system using an electrorheological actuator. Current research is primarily focused on providing effective rehabilitation of adult users. However, users of rehabilitation systems also include children. According to occupational therapists, therapy for developmentally disabled children should include a variety of training and typically requires hand-eye coordination because this is an important skill for school.

Comparison of Motor Skills in Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder and Normal Peers
Objectives: Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is a motor skill disorder which impacts upon a child, s ability to perform age-appropriate activity of daily living and academic performance. They have problems in gross & fine motors, their upper limb coordination are impaired, too. In this way, we decided to compare motors skills with BOTMP test in children with DCD and their normal peers....
متن کاملVariable structure pantograph mechanism with spring suspension system for comprehensive upper-limb haptic movement training.
Numerous haptic devices have been developed for upper-limb neurorehabilitation, but their widespread use has been largely impeded because of complexity and cost. Here, we describe a variable structure pantograph mechanism combined with a spring suspension system that produces a versatile rehabilitation robot, called Universal Haptic Pantograph, for movement training of the shoulder, elbow, and ...
متن کاملTowards the Development of Advanced Exoskeletons for Supporting the Human Activities
Exoskeletons find application in many fields and can be divided into three main categories: 1) haptic interfaces; 2) power amplifiers; 3) rehabilitation and assistance systems. A number of research groups have developed a number of robotic solutions for supporting the motor activities of the upper limb by integrating advanced technologies in terms of actuation, sensors, control and mechanisms. ...
متن کاملDevelopment of Quasi-3DOF Upper Limb Rehabilitation System Using ER brake: PLEMO-P1
In recent years, many researchers have studied the potential of using robotics technology to assist and quantify the motor functions for neuron-rehabilitation. Some kinds of haptic devices have been developed and evaluated its efficiency with clinical tests, for example, upper limb training for patients with spasticity after stroke. However, almost all the devices are active-type (motor-driven)...
